How do seniors, students, or disabled riders get CTA fare discounts?

Seniors, students, and individuals with disabilities can receive fare discounts on the CTA by obtaining a Reduced Fare Permit from the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA). This permit allows eligible individuals to ride at a reduced rate on CTA, Pace, and Metra. Additionally, seniors enrolled in the Illinois Department of Aging’s Benefit Access Program and individuals with disabilities certified for ADA paratransit can ride free.
